Heritage Services

Heritage Services

We offer expert consultancy advice to both public and private sectors in archaeology, heritage conservation, and management.

The ambition or intent of the services we provide is to preserve and protect cultural heritage for the benefit of future generations. We maintain strong relations with stakeholder by negotiating complex and sensitive heritage issues to reach solutions that satisfy cultural heritage and legislative compliance requirements, while seeking outcomes that respect our heritage and benefit communities.

Aboriginal Heritage

We provide advice and assessment services for all levels of Aboriginal cultural heritage assessment. Our services include due diligence and Aboriginal cultural heritage assessments to consider whether an area of land may contain Aboriginal cultural material and its implications. We also consult with local Aboriginal communities, undertake surveys, site inspections, test excavations, and provide assistance with AHIP or other permit applications (state dependant).

test and salvage excavations

Salvage excavation programs aim to rescue and document artefacts and cultural remains at risk of destruction and return/rebury recovered artefacts in conjunction with the Aboriginal community.

Historical Archaeology Services

We conduct Historic Archaeological Assessments to understand a site's history and determine if further investigations are needed. Our Historical Archaeological Assessments support permit applications by evaluating the significance of archaeological remains and developing management strategies.

Statement of Heritage Impact (SOHI)

Our SOHI evaluates potential impacts of development on heritage items, places, or conservation areas in NSW. It includes an analysis of heritage significance and proposes mitigation measures.

Test and Salvage Excavations

We conduct archaeological test excavations to assess archaeological remains' presence, condition, and significance. Salvage excavation programs aim to rescue and document artefacts and cultural remains at risk of destruction.
